Shattuck was the Western strip created by Wally Wood in the early 1970s for the armed services newspaper Overseas Weekly as a companion to Cannon and Sally Forth. It was a short-lived strip, lasting for just 29 weeks. Fantagraphics published a complete collection in 2016, almost entirely shot from the original art, if you'd like to read the strip. Here is the original art for the 27th page. featuring some very nice Western action and slick art . The art was a true studio effort with Wood doing the rough layouts and occasionally touching up the art and assisting on inking. The bulk of the art in the later strips was by Dave Cockrum (in his first professional work). Inks by Jack Abel. Signed by Cockrum and Abel in the last panel. Like on Sally Forth and Cannon, each week's strip is composed of 2 boards, EACH a large art board! Board size of 27A is 19 x 14.5 inches with an image area 17 x 12.5 inches. Board size of 27B is 19 x 14.5 inches with an image area 17 x 10.25 inches.
